The school maintains to be recognised by a large number of national awards which shows the progress made in raising standards. In today's world, education is vital, and by giving children a first rate education during these formative years in school, we can help them achieve their potential in later years.

The school is situated in a semi-rural setting on the outskirts of Ashington town and serves the east end of the town. We are close to the richness of the mining heritage of the area as well as the amenities of Ashington and the school has maintains close links with the community. We have created a vibrant, accessible community room and the facilities are used extensively by local community groups:

  • The Welbeck Toddler Group
  • Ashington Surestart who run parenting classes
  • Adult Learning tutors run regular Literacy and Numeracy classes in preparation for GCSE's
