Governors

The school has its own Board of Governors on which parents and their views are represented. Elections for the parent governors are held periodically and the Acting Head teacher will inform parents when a post is vacant.

Governors meetings are normally held at least once per term, at which the Acting Head teacher reports on various activities of the school. An annual meeting for parents with Governors is held in the school hall, usually during the Spring term. Minutes of the meetings are available for parents on request at the Main Office.

Members of the Governing body are appointed to serve for a period of up to four years. They form an important body, which is responsible for the delivery of the curriculum and a vast range of strategic matters relating to the conduct and smooth running of the school.

Class Organisation
Classroom Organisation in Main School

This school provides education for pupils of both sexes and abilities aged 3 - 9 years.

The estimated numbers on the school roll for September 2008 were as follows:

  • Nursery 39 - morning 20; - afternoon 19
  • Reception 21
  • Year 1 26
  • Year 2 24
  • Year 3 34
  • Year 4 32

Wherever possible, classes are organised within their own age groups but the actual mix of ages is dependent upon the number of pupils on roll in September 2008. All classes are of mixed ability. For this school year there will be 176 on the school roll. These will be divided into five classes with a need to create a mixed year 3, year 4 class in KS2..
